How it works
Length and weight are converted through a canonical base unit (metres and grams): your value is scaled into the base unit and then into the target unit. Temperature uses affine conversion via Celsius, because its scales have different zero points.
Length / weight: result = value × factor(from) ÷ factor(to)Example. 1 metre equals 3.28084 feet, 1 kilogram equals 2.20462 pounds, and 100 °C equals 212 °F.
Why temperature is different
Length and weight conversions are simple ratios because their scales share a zero point. Temperature scales don't - 0 °C isn't 0 °F - so converting requires shifting and scaling (an affine transform) rather than a single multiplication. This calculator handles that automatically.

How accurate are these conversions?
They use exact internationally-defined factors (for example, 1 inch = 0.0254 m exactly), so results are accurate to the displayed precision.
How do I convert Celsius to Fahrenheit?
Multiply the Celsius value by 9/5 and add 32. For example, 37 °C × 9/5 + 32 = 98.6 °F. Select Temperature, then Celsius → Fahrenheit to do it here.
