How it works

Starting from your date, the calculator steps forward (or backward) one day at a time, counting only weekdays, until it has counted the requested number of business days. Weekends are skipped entirely, not counted as partial progress.

Formula
Step forward/backward one calendar day at a time, incrementing a counter only on Monday-Friday, until the counter reaches the target.

Example. 10 business days after 30 August 2026 (a Sunday) lands on 11 September 2026, a Friday - the 10 working weekdays span two full weekends in between.

This doesn't account for public holidays

This calculator skips weekends only - it has no way to know your country's or company's specific public holiday calendar. If your deadline needs to account for holidays too, manually adjust the business-day count to skip any holidays that fall in the range.

Frequently asked questions

Does this account for public holidays?

No - only weekends (Saturday and Sunday) are skipped, since holiday calendars vary by country, region and company. Factor in any known holidays yourself when the exact date matters.

How long is 5 business days?

One calendar week if you start on a weekday: 5 business days from a Wednesday is the next Wednesday. Starting on a Saturday or Sunday, it ends on the following Friday.

How long is 10 business days?

Two calendar weeks from a weekday, landing on the same weekday two weeks later, for example Monday to Monday. That is 14 calendar days.

How long is 3 to 5 business days?

From a Monday, 3 business days is Thursday and 5 is the following Monday. Orders placed on a Thursday or Friday cross a weekend, so 3 to 5 business days can mean up to 7 calendar days.

What is the next business day from today?

Tomorrow, unless today is a Friday or Saturday, in which case it is the coming Monday. Enter 1 in the calculator to see the exact date.

What if my start date is itself a weekend?

The calculator starts counting business days from the next (or previous) weekday - the start date itself only counts if it's a weekday and you count from it directly.
