Days Until Countdown Calculator
Count down to any event - a wedding, product launch, deadline, holiday or anniversary - and see exactly how many days, weeks and months remain (or how long ago it was, for a date in the past).
Defaults to today - change it to count from a different date.
How it works
The calculator finds the exact number of calendar days between your "count from" date and the target date, then also expresses that gap in whole weeks and approximate months for a quick, human-readable sense of scale.
Days = target date - count-from date (in whole days) | Months (approx.) = days / 30.44 (the average month length)Example. Counting from 30 August 2026 to Christmas Day (25 December 2026) is 117 days away - 16 full weeks, or about 3.8 months.
Frequently asked questions
Why is the months figure approximate?
Months don't all have the same length (28-31 days), so there's no single exact "days in a month" to divide by. This calculator uses the average calendar month (30.44 days) to give a sensible approximate figure - the days and weeks figures are exact.
Can I count down to a date that's already passed?
Yes - if the target date is before your "count from" date, the result shows how long ago it was instead of how long until it happens.
